a reason to sing

What would life be like if we wrote down one thing we are thankful for every morning before our feet touch the floor? A dear friend/client recently laid this challenge upon my heart. When pondered, most days result in how they begin. Rushed, withdrawn, anxious, calm, optimistic, etc. My attitude and outlook when I awake often dictates my mood for the day. To openly start the day with a thankful heart by physically writing it down might actually be life changing. Even giving praise for the singing birds perched on the birch tree just outside my bedroom window. If they have a reason to sing, why am I silent?

  1. Beautiful thoughts. I have been paying closer attention to the new mercies every morning since I read One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp. I highly recommend it if you haven't already picked it up. I'm getting ready to read it again as part of a Thursday morning book club my mom and I are doing.

  2. You have such a lovely blog! We say what we are thankful for every evening with our kids. We have been doing it for over three years now and have never run out of things to be thankful for!
